THE MACHINE

Last weekend we went to an estate sale, and it was such a fun activity to do together. Plus these people's house was  awesome; three stories with a hidden elevator. They ended up losing it because of the economy, so it was really sad and made me so thankful for the things we have and  really made me hope that we never have to go through something like that.
Jared and I each fell in love with something there, and I am so spoiled because I got what I wanted, needless to say my thing was only $40 while Jared's was $850...I guess that explains why I got what I wanted. Anyway here is what I got.....

The table that it came with is pretty beat up, but it is totally awesome! It is kind of vintage and was made in the early 70's. It appears to be very durable and well made. I am sure it will last me longer than any new machine (that I could afford) would. *fingers crossed*
Oh yeah the thing Jared wanted was a pool table, which we might have gotten if we had a place for it. It had barely been used and came with all the accessories. Great deal!

Well I am excited to try my new and first sewing machine out tomorrow. I will be making curtains using this tutorial. Wish me luck!!!

Willow or Kobe???

So for those of you that don't know or haven't met him, here is our baby boy...Kobe! We love this little baby, he has brought such a sweet spirit into our home. We found him on the internet at about 8:30 at night and we immediatly wanted him, we called and she said that she would hold him for us but only for a few hours. We packed up (Braden happened to be at our house for a sleepover), drove to the bank, and started the 3 hour drive to Stockton to get him. On the way we were trying to figure out if we wanted to name him Kobe or Willow (two names that we had liked from forever). I will never forget walking into the house and seeing our tiny little Kobe behind a gate, jumping up to get us.

Poor baby had his ears taped up
it was sad taking it off

He was such a daddy's boy at first.

6 Months!

It is so funny to think back to our 6 month anniversary. I was all sad because Jared hadn't done anything for our "6 month anniversary" and it WAS a big deal! At least it was to me and I am sure I made him feel like an awful husband. Now I look back and think of how petty I was being... needless to say after Jared learned that is WAS a big deal he went all out and made a big deal out of it. What a good husband to his crazy petty wife.
he wrote me a letter and had it floating in a bottle

A little History...back to reality

After our super fun summer back East, we (mostly me) had a awful time adjusting back to real life. I was offered my job back at US Welding, and Jared and I enrolled at UNR. At the time I felt so overhemed working part time and taking a class or two... BIGGEST regret ever....now that I am working full time and school full time. I REALLY wish I would have been taking like 5 or 6 classes when i was only working part-time. Heck, I would have been graduated by now...oh well i guess!
Our second home

tiny & orange
Anyways, this was our second apartment, a little less lavish then the first, but it was home and we were very thankful for it. Plus the location was amazing for going to classes, I sure miss walking across the street and being at school. Thank you April for finding it for us!!!

A little History...drive home

Nauvoo!!!
tired after a long day of driving

Brigham Young's House

The drive home was yucky! BUT we were able to take a little detour and spend the night in Nauvoo!!! Pretty Lucky, I know. The place we stayed at was really cool. I can't remember the name exactly, but I think it was one of the first cabins built in the Salt Lake Valley and then they moved it back to Nauvoo. There was a book in the cabin that told its whole history and had pictures of all of the people that built it and had lived in it. It was really interesting, my dad would have loved it.
The next day we were able to go around the town for awhile. It was a rainy, windy, and blustery day but it was a great experience. We just wish we could have had more time there.

A little History

History was always my favorite subject, and here is a a little history of what we have been doing since the marriage day. (April 17, 2009)

For our honeymoon, Jared's parents got us a 7 day cruise to the  Mexican Rivera!!! Thanks again Doug and Patsy, we love you! We got to stop at Mazatlan, Cabo San Lucus, and Puerto Vallarta. It was such a fun trip and such a great way to start an amazing life. I love my husband!!!

After our honeymoon, we packed up our little 2002 hatchback Ford Focus (total lemon), and took the three day drive to Philadelphia, PA! We loved our first home so much and wanna go back to the East sometime soon. It was such an awesome experience to be able to live in a different part of the country and have our first couple months married all alone, besides ourselves, of course!

Geno's!!! Best cheese steaks ever!!
Jared craves this place all the time!!

Our 1st home <3

There were so many fun and historic things to do!

We got to spend 4th of July in downtown Philadelphia, pretty special since that is where the Declaration of Indepdence was signed, and we got to see Sheryl Crow perform! It was huge outdoor concert.

Living in Philadelphia we were so close to so many awesome places. Like...

Washington D.C.!!!

Washington D.C was really neat to see when got to do pretty much everything we wanted to do there. I believe we went there three times.  Some of the ladies in our ward were taking a trip to the temple and so i hitched a ride with them. Jared was working so he wasn't able to go. I was so dumb and didn't take my camera so I don't even have any pictures!! To bad, becasue it is a beautiful temple inside and out. I am so thankfully that we have so many temples in this country that we can pretty much go to one whenever we want. We are so blessed and spoiled by our Heavenly Father!

And Like...

NEW YORK!!!

New York was such an Amazing place to see, it was all so new and different to me. We were able to do lots of fun things including (but not limited too) Time Square,  subway, street vendor food, taxi, Central Park, Broadway's Shrek, etc, etc,etc......  Also Matthew and Tasheena were able to come and visit, it's always fun when family's around!

 And...
Jersey Shore!

Yes, we went crab fishing, it was pretty awesome!
I think I should mention that this was one of my best summers ever! I didn't have to work ONE single day, or even half a day. I was one spoiled rotten girl this summer. Thank you Jared for working so hard and letting me be so lazy this summer! I love you! Mwah!

Finally!

So I am FINALLY starting this blog! I have been wanting to do it for a while now, but have just been too busy (aka lazy) to sit down and pound it out. By my terminology "pound it out" you can probably tell that I am a collage student because that is what we do, we pound out papers and lots of other icky work.  Both Jared and I will graduate from UNR this December, and we are SO ready to be done! It has been way to many years since we have both started and are ready move on to the next chapter of our lives!

Speaking of the next chapter of our lives, we have been getting a wee bit baby crazy in our house lately. I think Jared is a little more crazy than me, this was a complete surprise. Would you like to know Jared's reason for wanting a baby so bad....well here it is....

Yes, little Maddie, your uncle Jared has fallen in love with you!
